In the Name of God Amen The Fourteenth day of May In the yeare of our Lord God according to English computac[i]on One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and Eight I George Lanston the elder of Laighton Bussard in the County of Bed[for]d haberdasher of small wares being aged sick and weake of body yett of good perfect remembrance praised be God therefore doe make constitute and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say First I willingly yeild and submitt my soule unto the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing to be saved by and through the merritts death resurrection and Assention of Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer and not by any merritts of my owne And my body to be decently buried in Christian buriall according to the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as touching my temporall Estate which God of his infinite mercy hath beene pleased to bestow upon me here in this life far above my deserts I dispose of the same as followeth First I doe by theis p[resen]ts revoke annull frustrate and make voyd all former Wills and bequests whatsoever heretofore by mee made or done either by word or by writing and this onely is to be taken as my last Will and Testament and none other And alsoe I give and bequeath unto George Lanston my sonne all my working tooles whatsoever and all my leather And alsoe I give and bequeath unto my said sonne George Lanston the sume of Ten pounds of lawfull English money And alsoe I give and bequeath unto George Lanston my Grandsonne sonne of the said George Lanston my sonne the Summe of Five pounds of like english money both which said sumes of Ten pounds and five pounds shall be paid within Six Moneths next after the decease of Isabella my now wife And alsoe I give and bequeath unto Michaell Hatter the younger sonne of Michaell Hatter the elder of Hounsditch in the Citty of London Tayler the sume of Six pounds of like english money to be paid unto him when hee shall attaine unto his age of one and Twenty yeares And alsoe I will And bequeath unto William Lanston my Grandsonne sonne of Thomas Lanston my sonne deceased the sume of six pounds of like English money to bee paid unto him within Six Moneths next after the decease of my said now wife Isabella Item alsoe I give and bequeath unto the two daughters of my said sonne George Lanston the sume of Fower pounds of like english money to be paid unto them when the shall attaine unto their severall ages of One and Twenty years that is to say unto each of them Forty shillings a peece And alsoe I give unto the foure children of Walter Hebbes of Laighton aforesaid Labourer eight pounds of lawfull english money (that is to say) unto each of them Forty shillings a peece to be paid unto them when they shall attaine to their severall ages of one and Twenty yeares And if it shall happen that any of them shall depart their naturall lives before they shall attaine to their said severall ages of one and Twenty yeares as aforesaid That then the said Legacies given to the parties deceased shalbe equally devide amongst the rest then liveing And alsoe I give and bequeath unto my sonne George Lanston his wife Twenty shillings of like English money to be paid unto her within Six Moneths next after the decease of Issabella my now wife All and singuler other my goods and Chattells Lands and Tenements whatsoever not before here by me Willed and bequeathed my debts and Legacies paid and my funerall expences discharged I will and bequeath unto Issabella my now wife And further my Will is that if any the Legacys given to any the parties before named to be paid unto them when they shall attaine unto their severall ages of one and Twenty yeares shall become due and payable unto them before the decease of Issabella my now wife That then my will is that the said severall legacys shalbe paid within Six Moneths next after the decease of my said wife Issabella and not sooner and lastly I doe make constitute and ordaine my loveing wife Issabella together with my loveing freinds Marke Wilkes of Laighton aforesaid gent[leman] And James Leach of the same Towne and County yeoman to be Executors of this my last Will and Testament In Witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written The marke of Georg[e] Lanston the elder Sealed signed published and declared in the presence of The marke of Elizabeth Gates John Chapman
