Transcript
The will of Jeames Birche of Leyghton Bussard in
the County of Bedforde Draper the fyrst daye of June Anno Domini
1616. Item he gave and bequeathed unto Katerin his wyffe all the
wares in her shope which is on the east parte of their Dwelling
howse with all other wares in the howse or Chambers belonging to
her trade which shee nowe doth and hath formerlie used as in her
owne tradinje Item further he doth bequeath unto his said wiffe
Kateren All his moveable goodes whatsoever except the wares in
his owne shopp of Draperye which he bequeath as followeth Item
he geveth unto his sonne Jeames Birche tenne shillinges Item unto
the poore of the towne of Laighton twentie shillinges It[e]m he
willeth and his will is that all the wares in his shoppe of Draperye
which nowe he useth shall with all Convenient speede After his
discease be measured wayghed and valued by some of Judgement therein
And the same to be soulde And therewith his debtes to be payd and
the over plushe and remaynder of the valewe of the said wares After
his debtes payd he geveth and bequeath unto his two Daughters Marye
And Jane Equallie to be devided by even portions betweene them
Finiallie he dothe constitute and Appointe his said wyffe Kateren
his sole and full Executryxe to see and performe this his last
will and testament faythfullie to be Fulfilled wytnesses to this
will and testament of the above named Jeames Birche beinge in perfect
memorie at the tyme of the makinge and declaringe of the same are
these whose names are under written. the marke of Thomas Poynton
Richard Elliott Marke Darknall writer hereof.
