January the third One Thousand six hundred seaventy
nyne and in the one and Thirtieth yeare of our Sov[eraigne] Lord
Charles the Second by the Grace of God over England Scotland France
and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c. I Anne Merydale of Heath
and Reach in the parish of Laighton Budezart in the County of Bedford
Widowe doe in the Day and yeare above written make and ordaine
this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following My
dayes are extinct the grave is readie for mee lett the dust retourne
to the Earth as it was and the spiritt to God that gave it whence
I long to be through the meritts of Jesus Christ in an Estate of
perfect holines and happines for ever That outward Estate that
he hath gratiously given his servant I dispose there of as followeth
Inprimis I give and bequeath unto my beloved Mother Elizabeth Smith
the summe of five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid
unto her within Two yeares after my decease To be paid unto her
out of the moneys that was given unto mee by my honoured Mast[e]r
Mr. John Baynard whose Executrix I was Item I give and bequeath
unto my Mother in Lawe Elizabeth Merydale the summe of Five pounds
of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her out of the aforesaid
monies within Two yeares after my decease Item my will is that
if it should please God that the Child that now I am now bigg with
be a Sonne Then I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth my two least
gold rings and my silver Tankard and one little silver spoone and
the one moyetie or halfe part of all my moveables and immoveables
Good and Chattells whatsoever that were bequeathed unto mee by
my said Master that shall be left after my Master legacies and
debts and my Legacies and debts shall be paid and discharged Item
my will is likewise that if it should be a Sonne that I am bigg
with Then I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne Merydale seaven
silver spoones six pretty large ones and a little one and one silver
porringer my biggest gold ring and \the/ other moyetie or halfe
part of the Goods and Chattells moveables and immoveables whatsoever
that shall be left of those that were bequeathed unto mee by my
aforesaid Master after that his legacies and debts and my legacies
and debts and funerall Charges be paid and discharged Item I give
and bequeath unto my Child that I am bigg with if it be a sonne
one shilling to be paid out of the Goods and Chattells moveables
and immoveables aforesaid and my will is that my children may be
under the Goverment of my Executor or theire Assignes untill they
be at age to provide for themselves But if it should please God
that the child I am bigg with be a Daughter Then my will is that
they should be all Coheires in all my Estate Goods and Chattells
whatsoever And I make and ordaine my well beloved Brother George
Smith of Burton Latimer my sole Executor of this my last Will and
Testament And I doe desire and entreate my loveing Kinsmen Mast[e]r
Francis Robbinson and Henry Robbinson both of Burton Latimer aforesaid
to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament Item I likewise
give and bequeath unto my well beloved Mother Elizabeth Smith all
my wearing apparrell. Ann Meridale: Signed Sealed and published
